Stuff is going on

Plenty of stuff is going on. Here’s just a little about what’s happening:
Gnome 2.14 is released today. Very exciting. It’ll probably only take the Gentoo guys 6 months for it to be marked stable. I might have to do the package.unmask thing.
I tried out the Kororaa (Gentoo-based) live CD, with the new XGL stuff in it last night. Very impressive. Some kick ass eye-candy in there. I hope to see this running on my desktop soon. Probably be a bit longer on my powerbook, as the opensource r300 driver isn’t quite there yet.
A patch was send to the Debian PPC list today for sound support on the PowerBook5,8. I patched my 2.6.16-rc5 kernel, and it works! I had to make a small change to an ALSA config file (as there was an error in it), but all the gory details can be found on my wiki page.
The gradiators are back in action, with a YMCA organised lunchtime volleyball comp. The skill level is much lower than the over comp we were in, which made it a nice change. Big-ups to Nelsie for her first game.
Last, but not least, Melbourne is crazy at the moment with the Commonwealth Games stuff going on at the moment. Blue car lanes, batons being run through the streets and giant floating fish in the Yarra. A few of us are going down to Federation Square to see some live opening ceremony stuff on the big screen. Look out for those crazy floating fish though.
